Leonard Henderson was born on September 21, 1922, in Middletown, Ohio. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve on December 21, 1942, and went on active duty beginning December 28. 1942. After completing basic training and administrative specialist training, Pvt Henderson deployed to England and was assigned to the 352nd Fighter Group in August 1943. At the end of the war, Sgt Henderson transferred to the 306th Bomb Group on Occupation Duty in Germany until returning to the United States in December 1945. He was honorably discharged from the Army Air Forces on January 4, 1946. After leaving active duty, he founded the Henderson Oil Company and later owned JP Transportation. He and his wife Ruth had three children together. Leonard Henderson died on September 29, 2010, and was buried at Woodside Cemetery in Middletown, Ohio.
