Carl Lacy was born on June 23, 1927, in Gulfport, Mississippi. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 7, 1945, and after completing basic training at NTC Great Lakes, Illinois, he completed hospital corpsman training at NTC Farragut, Idaho. HA3c Lacy served at the U.S. Naval Hospital at Camp White, Oregon, from October 1945 until he left active duty and went into the Naval Reserve in June 1946. He returned to active duty in February 1951, and then served as a hospital corpsman at the U.S. Naval Hospital at NAS Pensacola, Florida, from March 1951 until he received an honorable discharge from the Navy on January 8, 1952. After working in the automotive industry for over 50 years, Carl Lacy died on April 13, 2006, and was buried at the Long Beach Cemetery in Long Beach, Mississippi. He and his wife Jennie were married from September 2, 1949, until his death.
